Hey ,

Lots of henna + jagua artists think that in order to charge more, they have to become better or faster artists. That's only like... 10% true!

The 90%? Focusing on your offer like stalking your ex's instagram story "for research".

Not your hands, speed or wrist strength.

I'll break it down so it doesn't sound like some Linkedin B.S.

My goal for 2026 is to earn $100,000+ as an artist by doing less events (not more).

That's like 3 events a month at around $2,500 each.

And because math isn't my strong suit, I like numbers that don’t require emotional support.

Realistically the only way to become a 'better artist' is practicing everyday.

And even then, who's paying $2,500 for jagua or henna?

So instead of upgrading the art, UPGRADE THE OFFER!

My ideal client are corporate event planners.

Yours could be brides, pregnant mamas-to-be, etc.

My first event in January, I charged $2,600 for a corporate event.

More than double what I typically charge.

Here's how...

A travel company booked me for temporary tattoos for their annual party in Montreal. The initial budget was $1,000.

I was as determined as that stubborn belly fat, to invoice that extra $1,600.

So I pitched name personalization on luggage tags - which for a travel company made sense.

I positioned it as: we tattoo people and STUFF.

Final invoice was $2,600.

They agreed without hesitation like receiving a free Costco sample.

Which I took as a sign that I actually undercharged, lol.

Here's the kicker. Name personalization requires very little effort from me.

I bring a machine and someone to run it. My hands stay largely uninvolved.

Now the part that no one ever posts on Instagram.
The expenses breakdown:

  • Letter Press Machine: $1400

  • Travel Expenses + Luggage to Montreal: $600

  • Staff Help: $400

  • New Booth Signage: $100

  • TOTAL EXPENSES: $2500

Which puts my profit at only $100 - that's like 11 matcha drinks at a higher-end cafe. Sigh.

BUT...

We saw crazy demand and popularity for the name personalization.

After deeper research, I could've and should've easily charged an additional $1,000.

So that means, next time the profit margin looks drastically different.

Without travel, machine purchase or new signage (both one-time purchases) PLUS if I actually charged that extra $1,000 like I should have, my profit would be $3100!

Here's what this means for you...

Focusing on becoming a better or faster artist = playing on hard mode.

Building a strong offer = massive cheat code.

What could you add to your service that fits a higher price tag without you requiring to do more? Counter-intuitive, I know.

If you DM me on Instagram, I can help you brainstorm some ideas.

Sending good vibes,

Nadine
