Now, the trip was funded by the tattoo & henna biz (yes, there was that much hustle involved), but it wasn’t a quick “oh, let’s book a flight next week” kind of deal.
It took years of steady work to get to this point.
Problem was, the trip overlapped with our content shoot schedule, which would domino into the launch of the YouTube channel.
A channel dedicated to temp tattoo & henna tutorials meant to make your life easier and hype up the tattoo/henna kits later this year.
But, because I’m nothing if not a multitasker (& the type to totally ignore jet lag), I packed up my henna/jagua cones, some tech gear, and decided—why not shoot in Mexico?
Gorgeous views, summer vibes - fitting for henna/jagua content.
Here's where it gets funny.
We were hotel hopping, so each time we checked in, I had to figure out where to store my henna and jagua.
No hotel room had a freezer, so I ended up handing it over to the kitchen staff like, “Can you keep this weird gel cold for me? It’s for work... I swear.”
While I managed to get a few cute pics of me tattooing my husband, I needed a good chunk of uninterrupted time to film the actual YouTube tutorial. |
