Hey ,
So as a way to create demand for the henna & temporary tattoo kit product launch later in the year, after 1 month of planning our Youtube scripts and storyboards, we finally started shooting!
Since we planned everything in pre-production, we thought we did all the heavy lifting and the first Youtube video shoot would be smooth sail - little did we know...
It was a simple video comparing temporary tattoos vs. henna, a couple of quick takes, maybe even two videos in one day. Was I VERY wrong.
With my team guiding me remotely from Egypt while I tackled the setup solo in Toronto, I felt like I was in a long-distance tech escape room.
Every time I charged one device, another one started blinking at me like a toddler demanding attention.

The fancy camera settings we chose? Storage and battery vampires.
And after a 10-hour shoot, it still took two more hours just to upload and organize the files.
Oh and that's not all, it turns out I accidentally deleted some of the footage and now I have to re-shoot an entire section. SIGH!

Lesson learned? In a perfect world, we'd aim for top-tier production. But in reality, good enough is better—and way faster—than perfect.
Especially when you're just starting out. So for the next shoot, we're sticking to simpler settings like a selfie stick and a strong prayer.
